Mon Mar 17 18:57:11 UTC 2025: ## VCK Confident of Cadre Loyalty Amidst Vijay’s New Political Venture
**CHENNAI, March 18, 2025** – The Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) has expressed confidence that its ideologically committed members will not be swayed by actor Vijay’s newly launched political party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK). VCK founder Thol. Thirumavalavan stated at a party meeting in Villupuram on Sunday that the party’s commitment to Ambedkarite ideology, Periyarism, and Marxist principles ensures its cadre’s unwavering loyalty. He dismissed concerns that TVK’s entry would weaken the VCK, pointing to the party’s continued strength despite previous similar ventures by actors. Thirumavalavan emphasized that the party only seeks members deeply rooted in its ideology, rejecting those who might be temporarily attracted by celebrity glamour.
VCK general secretary D. Ravikumar echoed this sentiment, highlighting the VCK’s unique role in addressing the issues of Scheduled Caste youth. He contrasted the VCK’s long-term commitment to Dalit empowerment with the potentially fleeting support actors might garner. Ravikumar differentiated the VCK’s voter base from parties like the Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK), which he characterized as attracting “floating voters.”
Naam Tamilar Katchi spokesperson Packiarasan Sethuramalingam concurred, asserting that parties like the VCK and NTK, grounded in strong ideological foundations, are less susceptible to losing supporters to TVK. He suggested that only parties relying on monetary incentives or appealing to fickle voters might see their support base eroded by Vijay’s entry into politics.
