Tue Mar 18 14:51:17 UTC 2025: ## Two Electrocuted, One Injured During Home Renovation in Tirunelveli

**TIRUNELVELI, March 18, 2025** – Two men died and one was injured in an electrocution accident during a home renovation in Kokkirakulam, Tirunelveli, on Tuesday. According to police, the incident occurred when Velayutham, a 30-year-old hockey player, received a fatal electric shock while retrieving tools near an electric meter in his father’s toilet. Two bystanders, Mariappan and Ravi, attempting to rescue Velayutham, were also electrocuted. While Mariappan is receiving treatment at Tirunelveli Medical College Hospital, Velayutham and Ravi succumbed to their injuries en route to the hospital. Palayamkottai police have registered a case.
