Mon Mar 17 18:12:28 UTC 2025: ## Warangal Airport Expansion Clears Land Acquisition Hurdle

**Warangal, March 18, 2025** – The land acquisition survey for the expansion of Mamnoor Airport in Warangal has been successfully completed, paving the way for the project’s crucial next phase. The government’s December 5th, 2024, notification to acquire 220.27 acres of private land in Gadipally and Nakkalapally villages has been finalized following a smooth survey process.

Initial concerns regarding compensation were addressed through negotiations with landowners, resulting in a mutually agreeable outcome. While villagers initially demanded ₹4 crore per acre, the final compensation is expected to range from ₹80 lakh to ₹1.20 crore per acre, reflecting the land’s market value and additional compensation. The District Collector, Satya Sharada Devi, credited the cooperation of landowners and the efforts of Khila Warangal tahsildar Nageshwar Rao for the successful completion of the survey.

The expansion necessitates an additional 280 acres beyond the existing 696.14 acres held by the Airports Authority of India (AAI). The remaining land will be secured through the denotification of a tank and the utilization of available government land. Ms. Devi also addressed concerns about road infrastructure, assuring that a 30-foot road will be widened to 60 feet to improve access for nearby villages. The project is expected to significantly enhance connectivity and infrastructure in the Warangal region.
