**Karaikudi, Sivaganga District, March 18, 2025** – Sivaganga Collector Asha Ajith addressed over 600 aspiring Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) candidates at an event organized by The Hindu in collaboration with Shankar IAS Academy and Alagappa Institute of Management at Alagappa University on Tuesday. The Collector emphasized the importance of hard work and a strategic approach to cracking the exam, dispelling the myth that location matters for preparation. She encouraged a well-rounded understanding of subjects, analytical thinking, and efficient time management over simply long study hours. She also highlighted the value of group study and discussion for diverse perspectives and improved comprehension.
The event, an “Union Public Service Commission Aspirants Meet,” featured presentations on the UPSC exam structure by Shankar IAS Academy Centre Head Arjun Nathan and remarks from Alagappa University Vice-Chancellor G. Ravi, who stressed the UPSC’s role in national development. The Hindu donated ₹30,000 worth of publications to the Alagappa Institute of Management’s library. Representatives from Alagappa Institute of Management and The Hindu were also present. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Associate Professor K. Chandrasekar.
