**Thiruvananthapuram, March 17, 2025** – Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar presented the prestigious Kerala Awards for 2024 at a ceremony held at Raj Bhavan today. These awards recognize outstanding contributions to society across various fields.

Noted writer and academic M.K. Sanoo received the highest civilian honor, the Kerala Jyothi award, for his contributions to Malayalam literature. His grandson accepted the award on his behalf.

The Kerala Prabha award, recognizing excellence in science and agriculture, was bestowed upon former ISRO chairman S. Somanath and organic farming pioneer P. Bhuvaneswari, respectively.

Six individuals received the Kerala Sree award for achievements in various fields: Kalamandalam Vimala Menon (arts), T.K. Jayakumar (health), Narayana Bhattathiri (calligraphy), cricketer Sanju Samson (sports), Shaija Baby (social service), and V.K. Mathews (industry and commerce). Samson’s wife accepted his award on his behalf.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan attended the ceremony. A distinguished jury, headed by Adoor Gopalakrishnan, K. Jayakumar, and B. Ekbal, selected the recipients.
