**NEW DELHI** – The Department of Posts has announced the activation of the online application status portal for its Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) recruitment drive. The recruitment, for the January 2025 batch, aims to fill 21,413 vacancies nationwide. Applications were accepted from February 10th to March 3rd, 2025, via the official website, indiapostgdsonline.gov.in.
Candidates can now check their application status by visiting the website and entering their registration number. The selection process is merit-based, using Class 10th marks; no written exam is required.
Eligibility criteria include a Class 10th pass from a recognized board, proficiency in the local language (studied at least up to Class 10), and an age between 18 and 40 years (as of March 3rd, 2025). Salaries range from Rs 10,000 to Rs 24,470 per month for Assistant Branch Post Master/Dak Sevak roles, and Rs 9,380 to Rs 12,000 for Branch Post Masters.
The recruitment covers numerous states, including Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Rajasthan, Haryana, Jharkhand, and Madhya Pradesh. Applicants are advised to consult the official notification for state-specific details.
