**KOCHI, March 18, 2025** – A 9-meter hydrogen fuel cell bus, capable of carrying over 30 passengers, has been deployed at Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL) as part of a three-year pilot project. The initiative is a collaborative effort between EKA Mobility, KPIT Technologies, and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL).
EKA Mobility integrated KPIT’s hydrogen fuel cell technology into its electric bus chassis, while BPCL established the necessary hydrogen generation, dispensing, and refueling infrastructure at the airport. The bus was showcased at the Global Hydrogen & Renewable Energy Summit in Kochi earlier this month. This project marks a significant step towards sustainable transportation in India.
