Mon Mar 17 20:09:43 UTC 2025: ## Haryana Unveils ₹2 Lakh Crore Budget, Focusing on Women’s Aid and Pension Scheme

**Chandigarh, March 18, 2025** – Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini presented a ₹2,05,017.29-crore budget for the 2025-26 fiscal year on Monday, featuring a significant allocation for women’s welfare and a new unified pension scheme for state employees. The budget includes no new taxes.

A key highlight is the allocation of ₹5,000 crore for the Lado Lakshmi Yojana, a monthly ₹2,100 aid scheme for women. The CM also announced the implementation of a Unified Pension Scheme (UPS) mirroring the central government’s scheme, providing state employees with a minimum monthly payout of ₹10,000 plus a 30% family payout after 10 years of service. Retired employees with 25 years of service will receive full benefits. This scheme will benefit nearly two lakh employees.

Addressing concerns about public finances, Mr. Saini highlighted a 277% increase in the state’s Gross Domestic Product over the past decade, rising from ₹4,37,145 crore in 2014-15 to ₹12,13,951 crore in 2024-25. Per capita income also saw a significant increase of 239%, from ₹1,47,382 to ₹3,53,182 during the same period. He further emphasized that government undertaking debt has remained stable over the past 10 years.

The budget also includes the establishment of a new authority, SANKALP (Substance Abuse & Narcotics Knowledge, Awareness & Liberation Program Authority), to combat drug abuse among youth.
