**VISAKHAPATNAM, Andhra Pradesh (March 18, 2025)** – Fifty members of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) Coastal Cyclothon-2025 arrived in Visakhapatnam on Monday as part of a nationwide event celebrating the force’s 56th Raising Day. The cyclists, who began their journey in Srikakulam, passed the Kursura Submarine Museum during their ride.
The Cyclothon, which traverses 6,553 km along India’s east and west coasts, aims to raise awareness of coastal security threats, including terrorism, drug trafficking, and smuggling. The Visakhapatnam Port Authority (VPA) Chairman, M. Angamuthu, highlighted the event’s theme: “Safe coast, prosperous India.” He emphasized the importance of community engagement and educating youth about the dangers of drug abuse.
The team received a send-off from the Port Chairman and will continue towards Kakinada on Tuesday. The Cyclothon will conclude at the Vivekananda Rock Memorial in Kanyakumari on March 31, with various teams participating across the route. Cultural programs were held in Visakhapatnam to celebrate the participants and engage local students.
