**TIRUPATI, Andhra Pradesh (March 17, 2025)** – Tirupati Superintendent of Police (SP) V. Harshavardhan Raju emphasized the importance of regular weapons training for police personnel, highlighting the need for constant readiness to maintain law and order and protect citizens. This statement followed an annual firing practice event at the Kalyani Dam Firing Range on Monday, where Mr. Raju himself participated, demonstrating proficiency with several firearms. He underscored the critical role of the police in safeguarding the Tirumala pilgrim center, a site visited by numerous VIPs and devotees daily.

The event also saw participation from trainee IPS officer B. Hemanth and several Additional Superintendents. In a significant development focused on women’s safety, Mr. Raju launched “Shakti Teams,” composed of six female officers per sub-division.
