Mon Mar 17 14:40:37 UTC 2025: ## Hubballi to Host 10th Taluk Kannada Sahitya Sammelan
**Hubballi, Karnataka, March 17, 2025** – The 10th Hubballi Taluk Kannada Sahitya Sammelan will be held in Hubballi on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at the Sawai Gandharva Hall in Deshpande Nagar. The event, organized by the Kannada Sahitya Parishat, will feature various literary sessions, a poets’ meet, and cultural programs.
Preparations are complete, according to organizers, who have secured funding through private donations after failing to receive funding from the central unit of the Kannada Sahitya Parishat. The Hubballi Dharwad Municipal Corporation has pledged ₹50,000 towards the event.
Teacher-writer K.S. Koujalgi will serve as the Sarvadhyaksha (president) of the convention. Writer and president of the Kannada Development Authority, Purushottam Bilimale, will inaugurate the Sammelan, while writer B.V. Sirur will preside over the inaugural session.
The day’s program includes sessions on health, education, and literature, followed by a poets’ meet (“Kelona Banni”) and an interaction with the Sarvadhyaksha. The convention will conclude with a valedictory ceremony attended by Sri Basavalinga Swami of Rudrakshi Mutt, with the valedictory address delivered by T.M. Bhaskar, Vice-Chancellor of Karnataka State Folklore University. Cultural performances will follow the ceremony.
