**Kozhikode, March 17, 2025** – The Kerala State government’s Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) and the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), Calicut, have joined forces to enhance technical education in the state. A memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed today will see the two institutions collaborate on joint training programs in advanced technologies for teachers and students of DTE-affiliated polytechnics.

The partnership will provide faculty and students with hands-on experience in cutting-edge technologies, research opportunities, and involvement in industry-academia collaborative projects. The initiative aims to create innovative courses, training in emerging technologies, and high-quality project guidance, according to a press release.

The State Institute for Technical Teachers Training and Research, Kalamassery, will oversee the implementation of the program on behalf of the DTE. The MoU was signed by P.R. Shalij, Director of DTE, and S. Pratap Kumar, Director of NIELIT. This collaboration marks a significant step towards modernizing technical education in Kerala and preparing students for future technological advancements.
