**CHENNAI, March 15, 2025** – A group of septuagenarian former Parry & Co. employees are proving that age is just a number, continuing their passion for rowing at the Madras Boat Club (MBC) decades after achieving competitive success. Revi Thomas, Rabindranath Rao, S. Radhakrishnan, Naresh Vassudhev, and P. Venkatram, all medal winners at major regattas in the 1970s and 80s, still hit the Adyar River daily at 6 a.m., sharing camaraderie and maintaining their impressive physical fitness.
Their rowing legacy includes a remarkable two-year winning streak (1974-1975) in the prestigious Challenge Fours Trophy, part of the Merchants and Bankers Trophy. Radhakrishnan still rows six kilometers daily, while 76-year-old Rabindranath Rao emphasizes the enduring friendships formed within the MBC. They continue to meet regularly, not just for the sport, but for the companionship and shared memories.
