Sat Mar 15 17:57:03 UTC 2025: ## Coimbatore Police Rescue Child from Trafficking Ring
**COIMBATORE, March 15, 2025** – Coimbatore police have successfully rescued a one-year-old boy from a child-trafficking and illegal adoption ring operating across Tamil Nadu. Seven individuals, including six women, have been arrested and are currently in judicial custody. The operation, aided by Childline, involved tracing the child to a couple in Kanniyakumari district.
The investigation began when Anitha (28), one of the arrested individuals, reported a dispute with her accomplice, Mohanraj (29), over the sale of her child for ₹2 lakh to an illegal adoption gang based in Salem. The other arrested women were allegedly involved in facilitating the illegal adoption.
Police are continuing their investigation and searching for additional suspects involved in the trafficking ring. The rescued child has been recovered and the couple in Kanniyakumari are also being questioned.
