**Chennai, March 16, 2025** – Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) president Dr. Anbumani Ramadoss has accused the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) government of doubling Tamil Nadu’s public debt in just four years. Addressing a public rally on Saturday, Ramadoss stated that the debt has surged to ₹9,40,000 crore, compared to ₹4,40,000 crore in 2021 under the previous regime. He highlighted this figure while presenting the PMK’s shadow budget focusing on agriculture. Ramadoss criticized the government’s reliance on increased taxation to boost revenue, suggesting that an efficient administration should prioritize increasing non-tax revenues. He further dismissed the recent state budget as lacking substance, questioning the length of the Finance Minister’s speech presenting it.
