**GREEN BAY, WI** – The Resch Center in Green Bay is buzzing with excitement as the WIAA Girls State Basketball Tournament is underway. Seven teams from Northeast Wisconsin are vying for state titles, with at least one local team represented in each division.
Several local teams saw strong showings but ultimately fell short of championship games. Lourdes Academy lost their Division 5 semifinal, while West De Pere lost their Division 2 semifinal. However, Xavier pulled off an upset, defeating top-seeded Elk Mound in the Division 3 semifinals to advance to the championship game. Laconia, also in Division 3, lost a hard-fought game to Oostburg.
Among the remaining contenders are:
