**Hyderabad, March 15, 2025** – The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has extended its yellow heatwave alert for several districts in Telangana through Sunday, March 16th. Initially covering Friday and Saturday, the warning now includes eight districts: Adilabad, Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Jagtial, Rajanna Sircilla, Peddapalli, Nirmal, and Karimnagar.
Temperatures have soared across the state, exceeding 40°C in 21 districts. Adilabad Rural recorded the highest temperature at 40.8°C, followed by Tiryani in Kumuram Bheem Asifabad at 40.7°C. Even urban areas experienced intense heat, with Maheshwaram in Rangareddy reaching 40.3°C. Hyderabad’s highest temperature was 38.7°C in Asifnagar.
The IMD advises residents to take precautions during this period of extreme heat.
