**Vadodara, Gujarat, March 15, 2025** – A speeding car accident in Vadodara on Thursday resulted in the death of one woman and injuries to four others. The driver, Rakshit Ravish Chaurasia, has been arrested and charged with drink driving, though he denies being intoxicated.
According to Chaurasia, his car struck a two-wheeler after hitting a pothole while making a right turn. He claims his speed was 50 kmph and that the airbag deployment impaired his vision, causing him to lose control. Police, however, are investigating the incident and have collected evidence from the scene. Commissioner Narasimha Komar stated that multiple vehicles were involved and that eight individuals sustained injuries in total. The police are also investigating the movements of both the driver and his passenger.
While Chaurasia claims he attended a Holika Dahan celebration and was not drinking, police have filed drink-driving charges. He has expressed remorse and a desire to meet the victims’ families. The investigation is ongoing.
