Sat Mar 15 08:02:38 UTC 2025: ## Man Hospitalized After Alleged Poisoning and Assault by Ex-Girlfriend and Her Associates
**Mahoba, Uttar Pradesh:** A medical representative, Shailendra Gupta, is hospitalized in critical condition after allegedly being beaten and forced to consume poison by his former girlfriend and her associates. Gupta, a resident of Hamirpur, claims he was attacked after demanding the return of approximately ₹4 lakh in cash and jewellery worth lakhs of rupees he had given his girlfriend during their four-year live-in relationship.
The incident occurred at their rented accommodation in Mahoba when Gupta confronted his ex-girlfriend about the money and jewellery. She, along with three associates identified as Sadab Beg, Deepak, and Happy, allegedly assaulted him and forced him to ingest a poisonous substance.
Following the attack, Gupta was rushed to the district hospital. He further alleges that the group had been blackmailing him and threatening to file false charges against him if he persisted in his demands. The accused are currently at large.
Police have confirmed that an investigation is underway.
