**Tiruchi, March 14, 2025** – A 20-year-old transgender woman, P. Priya, died in a road accident near the Palpannai railway bridge on the Tiruchi-Chennai National Highway early Thursday morning. Priya, a resident of Ariyamangalam, Ukkadai, was a passenger on a two-wheeler driven by her relative, Madan, when an unidentified bus collided with them around 1:30 AM. The impact threw Priya from the vehicle, resulting in severe head injuries that proved fatal at the scene. Madan sustained minor injuries to his left arm and received medical treatment.
Following a complaint filed by Priya’s friend, Shruti, the North Traffic Investigation Wing police have registered a case and are investigating the accident. Authorities are working to identify the bus and its driver.
