**Thiruvananthapuram, March 15, 2025** – The Kerala State government has fully disbursed the ₹577.50 crore allocated in this year’s budget for paddy procurement, Finance Minister K.M. Balagopal announced today. A final installment of ₹352.50 crore was released to the Kerala State Civil Supplies Corporation (Supplyco) to cover the subsidy. Earlier this year, the government had already sanctioned ₹225 crore in two tranches.

Despite the state’s commitment, Minister Balagopal highlighted that the central government is yet to release ₹835 crore in arrears for paddy support prices and transportation costs. Kerala’s system ensures farmers receive prompt payment through banks under the paddy receipt sheet (PRS) system, with the government covering principal and interest repayments.
