NAVI MUMBAI, March 15, 2025 – A school van driver has been arrested for allegedly raping a 15-year-old girl in Panvel, Navi Mumbai. Police arrested the man on Saturday following a complaint filed on Thursday.
The incident occurred on March 3rd when the accused, a neighbor of the victim, lured the girl into his van on her way to college. He then drove her to a secluded location where the assault took place. The victim reported the assault to her parents on Thursday, leading to the arrest.
The accused has been charged under the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. He remains in police custody until March 18th.
