Fri Mar 14 18:15:24 UTC 2025: ## Pakistan Claims India Masterminded Train Hijacking, India and Afghanistan Deny Involvement

**Islamabad, Pakistan –** Pakistan launched a strong accusation against India Friday, claiming it masterminded the hijacking of the Jaffar Express train earlier this week. The Pakistani military, in a detailed press briefing, stated that the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), responsible for the attack, was communicating with handlers in Afghanistan.

Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, director general of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), presented details of “Operation Green Bolan,” the military operation that rescued hundreds of passengers after a 36-hour standoff. He reported 354 passengers were rescued, but 26 passengers and security personnel were killed, along with 33 BLA fighters. The operation, which involved drones and elite special forces, was praised for its precision and the lack of civilian casualties during the rescue. Chaudhry detailed how the BLA used an IED to stop the train and segregated hostages by ethnicity.

Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry previously linked both India and Afghanistan to the attack, a claim both countries vehemently rejected. India’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs called the accusations baseless, while Afghanistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs urged Pakistan to address its internal security issues. The Taliban government also denied any BLA presence or involvement in Afghanistan.

The incident highlights ongoing regional tensions, with Pakistan pointing fingers at its neighbours while India and Afghanistan dismiss the accusations. The conflicting narratives underscore the complexity of the situation and the ongoing challenges in the region.
