Sat Mar 15 03:08:56 UTC 2025: ## Pakistan Claims Indian Involvement in Balochistan Train Attack

**Islamabad, March 15, 2025** – The Pakistan Army announced that 18 of the 26 hostages killed in a Balochistan train attack were army and paramilitary personnel. Following a 30-hour siege, security forces killed all 33 Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) militants involved in the hijacking of the Jaffar Express on March 11th. Over 300 passengers were rescued, though 37 sustained injuries.

Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), blamed India for the attack, presenting a purported video confession from former Indian Navy officer Kulbhushan Jadhav and citing statements by Indian officials. He linked the attack to Afghanistan and highlighted the ongoing fight against terrorism, citing numerous counter-terrorism operations. Chaudhry stated that Pakistan conducted 59,775 operations in 2024 and 11,654 so far in 2025, resulting in the deaths of 1,250 militants and 563 soldiers.

India vehemently denied Pakistan’s accusations, asserting that Pakistan should address its internal issues instead of blaming others. Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti acknowledged discrepancies in passenger counts, attributing them to potential escapes during the raid and late arrivals. He also called for an end to appeasement of terrorists and pledged governance reforms in Balochistan. The Army hailed the operation as a success, noting the challenging terrain and the presence of suicide bombers.
