FORT WORTH, TX – The North Texas Mean Green men’s basketball team will face off against the Tulsa Golden Hurricane Friday night in the quarterfinals of the American Athletic Conference tournament. The game, scheduled for 6 p.m. at Dickies Arena, pits the No. 2 seed Mean Green against the No. 10 seed Golden Hurricane.

North Texas previously defeated Tulsa 63-44 in their only regular-season meeting. However, Tulsa coach Eric Konkol anticipates a much closer contest, emphasizing the need for improved offensive play and a stronger defense against UNT’s Moulaye Sissoko, who scored a career-high 27 points in the previous matchup. Konkol noted the need to prevent Sissoko from receiving the ball deep and to vary defensive coverages.
