**RAJAMAHENDRAVARAM, Andhra Pradesh –** D. Purandeswari, Andhra Pradesh BJP State president and Rajamahendravaram MP, on Saturday provided financial assistance to the families of five young men who drowned in the Godavari River on February 26th. Each family received ₹50,000.
The five youths reportedly drowned while attempting to cross the river on foot during Sivaratri. Ms. Purandeswari, accompanied by MLC Somu Veerraju, offered condolences and promised to explore employment opportunities for the bereaved families. This was confirmed in an official press release.
