**Chennai, March 15, 2025** – Nayanta University, a private university based in Pune, Maharashtra, is expanding its reach to Tamil Nadu. The university announced it will begin accepting applications for its four-year, multidisciplinary undergraduate residential program, with a planned intake of 100 students for its inaugural year.
The admissions process, which started in February, involves an aptitude test evaluating language and mathematics skills, followed by a personal interview. Successful applicants will undertake a 16-month foundation program focusing on cultural and technological literacy, complemented by short internships after each academic year in the NGO, social, and corporate sectors. A longer internship will be part of the final year.
Scholarships will be available to deserving students, according to Ramesh Mangaleswaran, a founding member of the Nayanta Education Foundation. The university, established under the Maharashtra State Private University Act and backed by a group of industrialists, has partnered with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) for internship and training opportunities. The curriculum aligns with the National Education Policy, and the university plans to establish centers of excellence integrated with its teaching programs. Classes are scheduled to commence in August.
