Sat Mar 15 14:38:35 UTC 2025: ## Kerala Launches Statewide Anti-Drug Campaign

**Thrissur, Kerala – March 15, 2025** – Kerala’s government launched a major anti-drug campaign, Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (Drug-Free India Campaign), aiming to create a “drug-free Nava Kerala,” according to Higher Education and Social Justice Minister R. Bindu. The initiative, a collaboration between the state and Union governments, builds on existing programs like the Azad Sena, led by the National Service Scheme (NSS).

Minister Bindu highlighted the devastating impact of increasing drug use among youth and urged NSS and NCC students to actively participate in the fight against drug abuse. The Excise department is also conducting widespread awareness programs.

The launch event in Thrissur included an anti-drug performance and featured the District Collector as chairman of a newly formed district-level committee to manage the campaign. District Panchayat President V.S. Prince was the chief guest, and Assistant Excise Commissioner P.K. Satish presided over the ceremony. The campaign aims to significantly reduce narcotic substance use across the state.
