**Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh:** Bharatiya Kisan Union leader Rakesh Tikait, a prominent figure in recent farmer protests, narrowly escaped injury Friday evening after a nilgai (blue bull) unexpectedly jumped in front of his car. The incident occurred around 7:20 pm on the Muzaffarpur Mirapur Bypass.

The impact triggered the vehicle’s airbags, protecting Tikait and his passengers from serious harm. “A nilgai rammed the car. It happened in a flash,” Tikait recounted, emphasizing the life-saving role of the airbags. The front of the car sustained significant damage.

Despite the frightening experience, Tikait emerged unscathed. He used the opportunity to advocate for road safety, urging drivers to maintain safe speeds (below 100 kph) and always wear seatbelts. “Everyone should wear a seat belt,” he stressed.
