**Shivamogga, Karnataka, March 15, 2025** – A 25-year-old male elephant was discovered dead in an agricultural field in Nelaballi village, Arakalgud taluk, Hassan district, today. The carcass was found on the land of a farmer named Venkategowda. While the exact cause of death remains undetermined, electrocution is suspected. Forest and police officials are currently investigating the incident.
This tragic event follows closely on the heels of a fatal elephant attack on a woman near Arehalli in the neighboring Belur taluk earlier today. Local residents reported the discovery of the elephant’s body.
