**Madurai, March 15, 2025** – Madurai District Collector M.S. Sangeetha emphasized the constitutional mandate to uplift marginalized communities while celebrating International Women’s Day on Thursday. Speaking at an event jointly organized by Arogya Welfare Trust, Kalpataru Trust, and Gandhigram Trust, Ms. Sangeetha highlighted the need for accelerating action towards women’s empowerment.
The event included the distribution of welfare measures to women entrepreneurs and differently-abled children and individuals. Collector Sangeetha also inaugurated a Gandhigram Product Outlet showcasing personal care items, food products, nutritional supplements, homecare essentials, and khadi clothing produced by rural women. The initiative aims to support local women’s businesses and provide economic opportunities.
