**Prayagraj, India** – The dismembered body of a 16-year-old boy, Puranlal alias Sagar, was recovered from a river in the Niuria police station area on Friday evening, police reported Saturday. The body parts, found in a sack with the hands and legs severed, were retrieved by police divers.
Sagar, a resident of Bithra village, had been missing since March 10th. His mother, Indravati, filed a missing person report two days later after his phone was switched off. He was identified through a tattoo. Police estimate the body had been in the water for three to four days.
Sagar’s family has accused a local resident, Shubham Valmiki, of murder. They allege Valmiki threatened Sagar a week before his disappearance, ominously asking whether he would celebrate Holi with colors or blood. Valmiki is currently at large.
Four police teams have been formed to investigate the case. A murder case has been registered based on the family’s complaint, and the body has been sent for a post-mortem examination. The investigation is ongoing.
