**Mumbai, India** – Indian stock exchanges, the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE), are closed today, March 14th, 2025, in observance of the Holi festival. This closure affects all trading segments, including equity, derivatives, and currency markets.
While the main trading sessions for commodity derivatives and electronic gold receipts (EGR) are closed in the morning, evening trading will commence at 5 PM. The Multi Commodity Exchange of India (MCX) follows a similar schedule.
This holiday is one of two scheduled for March 2025; the other is for Id-Ul-Fitr on March 31st. The closure comes after a negative close for the Sensex and Nifty 50 indices on Thursday, March 13th, 2024, which saw losses of 0.27% and 0.33%, respectively.
