Thu Mar 13 16:32:50 UTC 2025: ## Delhi Chief Minister Unveils Plan to Tackle Air Pollution

**New Delhi, March 14, 2025** – Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced a comprehensive plan Thursday to combat the city’s persistent air pollution problem, aiming to create a “clean, green, and healthy capital.” The initiative follows a high-level meeting with environment officials, police, and civic bodies.

The plan includes year-round deployment of sprinklers and smog guns to control dust pollution (excluding the monsoon season). Increased enforcement at Delhi’s borders will target vehicles entering the city, a significant contributor to pollution levels, according to Gupta. Digital display boards will also be installed to raise public awareness.

To address dust from road construction and maintenance, all relevant agencies have been ordered to submit weekly reports on road repairs and cleanliness. Gupta stressed the importance of regular upkeep and swift action against violations.

Officials have been instructed to submit a coordinated action plan within a week. The Chief Minister emphasized the government’s commitment to tackling air pollution, citing the “Viksit Delhi Sankalp Patra” (Developed Delhi Resolution) as a guiding principle. The initiative aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for a cleaner India.
