**TIRUPATTUR, March 15, 2025** – A 55-year-old man, V. Ramachandran, was arrested on Friday for illegally practicing medicine at his clinic and pharmacy in Panchur village near Jolarpet. Ramachandran, who holds a pharmacy diploma but lacks a medical license, had been treating patients for several years at his establishment located on the Tirupattur-Krishnagiri High Road.
Health officials, acting on resident complaints, conducted a surprise inspection, uncovering used medical equipment, prescriptions, and various medications in the clinic. The clinic and pharmacy were subsequently sealed, and equipment including a blood pressure apparatus, stethoscope, and syringes were seized. An average of 35-50 patients visited Ramachandran daily for treatment.
Ramachandran, a first-time offender, was arrested by Natrampalli police and remanded to sub-jail in Tirupattur. A full investigation is underway.
