**Vadodara, Gujarat –** A horrific drunk-driving accident in Vadodara’s Karelibag area has claimed the life of one woman and left several others injured. The incident, which occurred late Thursday night near Amrapali Chaar Rasta, involved a black car speeding out of control and crashing into a two-wheeler and several pedestrians.
Hemaliben Patel died at the scene, while three to four others – including a 12-year-old girl named Jaini, a 35-year-old woman named Nishaben, a 10-year-old girl, and a 40-year-old man – sustained serious injuries and are currently hospitalized.
CCTV footage shows the driver emerging from the wrecked car in an apparently intoxicated state, shouting incoherently and uttering phrases like “Another round, another round!” and “Om Namah Shivay!” The video has since gone viral, sparking public outrage.
Police Joint Commissioner Leena Patil confirmed the driver’s intoxication and his subsequent arrest. Authorities are investigating whether other substances beyond alcohol contributed to the driver’s impairment. A police investigation is underway.
