**BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) –** East Alabama residents are bracing for a busy weather week, starting with strong storms Thursday night bringing heavy rain, hail, and gusty winds. While these storms pose a risk, there’s a chance for breaks in the cloud cover to offer optimal viewing of the total lunar eclipse late Thursday night into Friday morning.
Friday will bring a reprieve with dry, windy weather and highs near 80 degrees. However, the National Weather Service has issued a warning for Saturday, forecasting a heightened risk of severe storms and tornadoes, with two distinct periods of potential severe weather – one in the morning and another in the afternoon and evening. Residents are urged to stay weather-aware.
