**Jalgaon, Maharashtra –** A speeding truck crashed into a level crossing gate and was subsequently struck by a train in Jalgaon district, Maharashtra, on Friday morning. The incident, which occurred near Bodwad station around 4:30 am, caused a six-hour disruption to rail services on the route.
According to railway officials, the truck driver lost control of his vehicle, ramming it through the level crossing gate and becoming lodged on the tracks. Just as the 12111 Amravati Express approached, the train struck the truck. Miraculously, no one was injured.
The alert loco pilot, having spotted the obstruction, slowed the train significantly, preventing a potentially catastrophic accident. Railway, police, and protection force officials responded swiftly, using a gas cutter and earthmover to remove the truck from the tracks. The line was cleared around 10:20 am, allowing the train to proceed.
