**Geneva, March 13, 2025** – A United Nations Commission of Inquiry has concluded that Israel committed genocidal acts in Gaza during its recent offensive. The report, released Thursday, details the systematic destruction of sexual and reproductive healthcare facilities, including the Al-Basma IVF Centre, where approximately 4,000 embryos were reportedly destroyed.

The commission asserts that Israel’s actions, including the imposition of a siege blocking essential medical aid, constitute two categories of genocide under the UN Convention: deliberately inflicting conditions of life calculated to bring about physical destruction, and imposing measures intended to prevent births within the Palestinian population. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vehemently rejected the report, denouncing the UN Human Rights Council as biased and anti-Semitic, and accusing it of ignoring Hamas’s atrocities. Israel’s mission in Geneva also issued a statement categorically rejecting the allegations.

The UN investigation, launched in 2021, involved public hearings with victims and witnesses. The report’s findings have sparked widespread international outrage and condemnation.
