**VIZIANAGARAM, March 13, 2025** – Vizianagaram Superintendent of Police Vakul Jindal has ordered all officers to prioritize investigations into cases filed under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. This directive follows a recent success in securing a 25-year conviction for a man who raped a 3.5-year-old girl. The case, from October 27, 2024, resulted in a conviction on March 10, 2025, highlighting the department’s ability to achieve convictions within 4.5 months. SP Jindal attributed the swift resolution to efficient evidence collection and court submissions. He noted that over ten accused have been convicted under the POCSO Act in the last year due to the department’s prompt investigative work. SHO’s have been advised to study past cases to further refine their investigative procedures.
