CHICAGO (March 12, 2025) – A shooting outside O’Hare International Airport’s Terminal 2 early Wednesday morning left one person wounded. According to Chicago police, the incident began around 1 a.m. with an argument between two groups at a baggage claim area. The altercation escalated into a shootout outside the terminal, resulting in a 25-year-old man being shot in both legs. He was transported to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge and is listed in stable condition.
Authorities recovered a staggering 57 shell casings at the scene. The shooting caused damage to a Terminal 2 window, which was later boarded up. While the incident caused initial disruption, O’Hare International Airport reported that all lower-level arrival lanes were fully operational by 5:15 a.m. Airlines operating out of Terminal 2 include Air Canada, Alaska Airlines, and JetBlue.
Mayor Brandon Johnson addressed the incident, emphasizing that the shooting occurred outside the terminal doors and that airport operations are unaffected.
