**Ambur, Tamil Nadu –** A 62-year-old woman was injured in a highway robbery on Thursday near Ambur town on the Chennai-Bengaluru Highway (NH 44). Police report that F. Sheela was a pillion rider on a two-wheeler when a biker snatched her 10-sovereign gold chain. The sudden snatching caused Sheela to fall from the vehicle, resulting in injuries to her hip, legs, and hands.
Passersby assisted Sheela, and the Ambur Taluk police transported her to the Government Taluk Hospital in Ambur. Sheela described the robbers as two individuals on a motorcycle, with the pillion rider committing the theft.
Tirupattur Superintendent of Police Shreya Gupta has formed special teams to investigate the incident and apprehend the suspects. Police are currently analyzing CCTV footage from along the highway to aid in their investigation. A case has been registered.
