Thu Mar 13 16:30:00 UTC 2025: ## Former Vikings Receiver K.J. Osborn Returns to Washington on One-Year Deal
**ASHBURN, VA –** Wide receiver K.J. Osborn, who enjoyed success with the Minnesota Vikings before a disappointing stint with the New England Patriots, is heading back to Washington on a one-year contract, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported. Osborn, entering his sixth NFL season, will aim to resurrect his career after a largely unproductive 2024 campaign.
Osborn, a productive slot receiver in Minnesota from 2021-2022, amassed over 600 receiving yards and multiple touchdowns in each of those seasons. However, his performance plummeted after a trade to New England. Despite the Patriots’ need for receiving help, Osborn managed only seven catches before being waived in December. He was subsequently claimed by Washington but saw limited action.
The Commanders, who recently acquired All-Pro wide receiver Deebo Samuel, are looking to bolster their receiving corps beyond their top two players, Terry McLaurin and Samuel. With several other receivers currently unsigned, Osborn will compete for a significant role in the offense under head coach Kliff Kingsbury. He will be looking to put a forgettable 2024 season behind him and regain his prior form. At 28, Osborn will have a full offseason to learn the Commanders’ system and establish himself as a key contributor.
