Wed Mar 12 23:10:00 UTC 2025: ## Celtics Center Porzingis Out with Mystery Illness

**Boston, MA** – Boston Celtics center Kristaps Porzingis will be sidelined for at least another game due to an unidentified viral illness, he announced on X (formerly Twitter) Monday. The 7-foot-2 center, averaging 18.9 points and 6.8 rebounds this season, has missed the last six games since February 26th.

While the team initially described the ailment as a non-COVID illness, Porzingis’s X post revealed it remains undiagnosed. He stated he is recovering and expects to return to full strength soon.

Porzingis’s absence hasn’t hampered the Celtics significantly; the team has won 15 of their last 18 games and currently sits second in the Eastern Conference standings. His return is eagerly awaited, however, as the Celtics prepare to face the Western Conference-leading Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday. Porzingis had previously missed the start of the season recovering from offseason ankle surgery.
