Tue Mar 11 05:50:00 UTC 2025: ## Telangana Farmers Express Disappointment Over Rythu Bharosa Scheme Implementation
**Hyderabad, India** – The Rythu Bharosa scheme, designed to provide financial assistance to farmers in Telangana during harvest, is facing criticism over its implementation. While lauded initially as a success, the scheme, introduced by the previous BRS government, is now drawing flak from farmers under the current Congress administration.
Farmers in Medchal-Malkajgiri district are particularly upset. The government promised assistance for 14,300 acres, a fraction of the district’s 82,000 acres of cultivated land. This has left over 64,000 acres and thousands of farmers without the promised aid, despite possessing patta passbooks.
Delayed payments are adding to the farmers’ woes. Only 6,410 farmers received the promised funds during the Yasangi (rabi) season, leaving many others anxiously awaiting their payments. Further compounding the issue, farmers allege that even the promised ₹12,000 per acre has not been fully disbursed.
The situation is a stark contrast to the previous BRS government’s Rythu Bandhu scheme, which reportedly covered 79,844 acres and benefited 48,072 farmers. This led to the disbursement of ₹33.25 crore into farmers’ bank accounts.
The Congress party’s election promise of complete loan waivers has also fallen short. Only 3,600 farmers have received loan waivers, leaving many burdened by debt.
Farmer unions are demanding immediate action and equitable distribution of funds. They criticize the uneven disbursement of funds and question the transparency of the scheme. Concerns are rising about the Congress government fulfilling its election promises and ensuring timely aid to farmers. The lack of clarity and delays in the Rythu Bharosa scheme have led to widespread frustration and discontent among Telangana’s farming community.
