**Karimnagar, March 11, 2025** – The Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) of Karimnagar, Venkat Swamy, has issued a statement denying allegations of a lathi-charge against cricket fans celebrating India’s ICC Champions Trophy victory over New Zealand on March 9th. Reports circulating on social media claimed police used batons on the celebrating crowd.

ACP Swamy stated that while a large group of fans gathered at Geethabhavan chowk, causing traffic congestion, police intervention was limited to “friendly regulation” of vehicular movement.
