**CHENNAI, March 11, 2025** – A two-and-a-half-year-old girl died after a fall from the fourth floor of an apartment building in Manimangalam, near Tambaram, on Monday. Police identified the victim as Aruthra, daughter of Balachandran and Vidhya.
According to Tambaram police, Aruthra slipped through a stair railing, suffering fatal head injuries. Her mother, Vidhya, who rushed to help, broke her leg in the ensuing fall. Neighbors took both mother and daughter to a private hospital, where Aruthra was pronounced dead. Vidhya is receiving treatment for her injuries. The body has been sent for a post-mortem examination.
