Tue Mar 11 08:05:27 UTC 2025: ## Notorious Gangster Killed in Jharkhand Police Encounter

**Ranchi, Jharkhand – March 11, 2025** – Notorious gangster Aman Sao was killed in a police encounter in Jharkhand’s Palamu district this morning. Sao, convicted in multiple cases and facing charges in over 150 others, was being transported from Raipur jail in Chhattisgarh to Ranchi when members of his gang ambushed the police vehicle.

The shootout occurred near Andheritola in the Ramgarh police station area. Gang members attempted to free Sao, triggering a gunfight that resulted in his death and injuries to one police officer. Medininagar Sub-divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Manibhushan Prasad confirmed the details.

The incident comes a day after Jharkhand Director General of Police (DGP) Anurag Gupta warned that many criminal plots are orchestrated from within state jails. Gupta stated that Sao, along with two other gangsters, was operating his criminal network from inside prison. Raids were recently conducted in Simdega and Hazaribag jails targeting such activities. IG Operations Amol Homkar has been dispatched to the scene of the encounter.
