**Bengaluru, March 11, 2025** – A three-member gang of balloon sellers from Rajasthan has been arrested in Bengaluru for allegedly burglarizing a house in Rajaji Nagar. The trio, identified as Rajesh (42), Karan Singh (26), and Suresh Karan (22), used their balloon-selling act as a cover to scout for unoccupied homes.
Police investigations revealed that the gang would target locked houses, with two members entering the premises after breaking the locks while the third acted as a lookout. Their modus operandi was uncovered after a family reported a burglary on February 20th, where 35 grams of gold and 1.7 kilograms of silver were stolen.
CCTV footage helped police identify the suspects, who were apprehended near the Srirampura metro station. The accused, who reportedly slept on footpaths and in transit hubs, confessed to the crime. One member would travel back to Rajasthan to sell the stolen goods before returning with the proceeds.
Police recovered stolen valuables worth ₹5 lakh based on the gang’s confession. The incident serves as a cautionary tale about the importance of home security and highlights the resourcefulness of law enforcement in apprehending criminals.
