Tue Mar 11 07:30:00 UTC 2025: ## Karimnagar Collector Orders Halt to Unregistered Plot Registrations

**Karimnagar, Telangana, March 11, 2025** – Karimnagar Collector Koyya Sriharsha has directed officials to halt the registration of plots in unauthorized layouts that have not undergone Layout Regularization Scheme (LRS) procedures. During a review meeting on LRS with Additional Collector J. Arunashree on Monday, the Collector emphasized the importance of adhering to regulations.

He announced a 25% discount on LRS fees and open space charges for applicants who complete payments by March 31st. The Collector clarified that the government’s Layout Regularization Scheme 2020 allows for the regularization of layouts where up to 10% of plots have been sold before August 26, 2020, provided they apply through the Sub-Registrar’s office. Plots not undergoing this regularization process will not be registered.

Automatic LRS approval is granted for plots not listed in prohibited areas and outside buffer zones, FTL (Flood Threat Line), and water bodies, provided they maintain a 200-meter distance from water sources. Revenue and irrigation department approvals are mandatory for plots closer than this distance. The Collector ensured that LRS payments will be processed within 24 hours, with related proceedings issued immediately.

A public awareness campaign is underway to encourage citizens to take advantage of the 25% discount. While 16,000 properties are eligible for regularization, only 400 owners have responded. A help desk has been established at the municipal office to address queries on LRS. The Collector reiterated that registration will only be permitted for plots with LRS clearance. Revenue division officials, municipal commissioners, tahsildars, and other officials attended the meeting.
